SIMPLA

SIMPLA supports local authorities in harmonising their SEAPs and SUMPs.

The project targets small and medium-sized municipalities with a population between 50.000 and 350.000 inhabitants proposing a four-step approach to foster harmonised planning.

Dedicated training and coaching sessions, based on a sound methodology devised at transnational level, lead to the joint development of sustainable energy and mobility plans.

SIMPLA’s path to harmonisation

Guidelines A practical, step-by-step tool to guide the harmonisation process. Developed by a transnational team of experts, the SIMPLA guidelines and their digital version (SIMPLA’s online observatory) provide a full range of practical recommendations, templates, international case studies and easily replicable energy-saving packages.

Training Local authorities are offered tailored in-class training and webinars to enhance their strategic planning capacity. Officers from selected local authorities are offered 50 hours of practical in-class training on how to develop harmonised SEAPs and SUMPs. Later on, six international interactive webinars will broaden this learning opportunity to anyone interested in SIMPLA’s expertise.

Coaching. Dedicated experts’ support to develop harmonised plans (for local authorities benefitting from in-class training). The most motivated local authorities participating in training benefit from further 80 hours of coaching provided by highly qualified experts. SIMPLA’s coaches help cities develop their harmonised plans and look for funds for their implementation.

Plans Energy and mobility planned together. SIMPLA cities develop harmonised SEAPs and SUMPs making them greener and smarter. Joint planning maximises synergies, triggers considerable environmental benefits and paves the way to decongestion, increased energy efficiency and better quality of life for citizens.
