Rearranged traffic area at Palacky Square in the town of Uherske Hradiste

One of the main roads to ensure smooth traffic downtown is planned to be arranged to one-way road for motor vehicles, while cycle lanes will lead in both directions. Due to related substantial intervention in urban transport in the town center, all the planned traffic signs were installed and the traffic markings were implemented (without the implementation of structural works) at the expense of the town during 2012, so that the functionality of the proposed measures was verified in practice.

After the proposed measures were tested for about one year, the planned structural modifications were realized to calm traffic and thus increase the safety of cyclists:



Extended sidewalks at the site of a pedestrian crossing at the beginning of rearranged communication, thus optical narrowing of the road and deceleration of motor vehicles. Improved conditions for the development of urban cycling are complemented by new bicycle racks in the street space.
